Who is eligible for a $50 Green Reward?
Households that have had a home sustainability assessment completed on or before 11 May 2010 will be eligible for Green Rewards.
This means your home sustainability assessment must have been appropriately booked and an accredited assessor, contracted to deliver services for the Green Loans program, must have visited the property to conduct their assessment on or before 11 May 2010.
Around 300,000 households will be eligible for Green Rewards.
Why has the Government changed the delivery arrangement for Green Rewards?
As announced as part of the 2010-11 Budget, the $50 Green Rewards will be provided to households that have had a home sustainability assessment completed on or before 11 May 2010.
This delivery arrangement for Green Rewards provides value for money for the Australian taxpayer and ensures that all eligible households can get their $50 Green Reward for the purchase of eligible energy and water saving products.
It gives the householder a greater choice of stores to purchase their items and means that they do not have to remember to have a card with them at the time of purchase.
What if I have missed out on Green Rewards because my assessment was not completed on or before 11 May 2010?
A number of rebates and incentive programs remain available to households including support for renewable energy installations, solar hot water and heat pumps.
Visit the Living Greener website for details on Australian, State and Territory Government support.
I have an assessment booked but it won't be completed until after 11 May 2010, why can't I get Green Rewards?
As announced as part of the 2010-11 Budget, the Government has taken a decision to only provide Green Rewards for households which have already had a home sustainability assessment completed on or before 11 May 2010.
A number of rebate programs and incentive programs remain available to households, including Solar Credits which provides upfront financial support for households installing solar panels, and rebates for the installation of solar hot water and heat pump systems under the Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme.
The Living Greener website can help you find out what support is available in your area.
I am eligible for Green Rewards, when will I get my $50?
Eligible households will be sent a Green Rewards declaration form in the new financial year.
Am I eligible for a Green Reward if I had my assessment on or before 11 May 2010, but haven't received my report yet?
As long as you had your home sustainability assessment completed on or before 11 May 2010, you will be eligible for a Green Reward, even if the assessment report is delivered to you after 11 May 2010.
