Vodafone, Optus outages frustrate users

Most Vodafone customers are back online afer country-wide outages left them unable to make calls, send text messages or use data for hours on Thursday.
But Optus customers affected by the faults are still having problems, as are Vodafone customers in Western Australia, who were the first to lose coverage about 9am after a transmission link failed.
When engineers attempted to fix the problem in WA about 12.40pm, the problem spread and more outages were reported across Australia, a spokeswoman for the telco said.
Optus reported its network was experiencing problems a few hours later, at 3pm. |
