Highly agree with you idea. from 2011 s1's question we may be asked this sort of question rather than temples, five force model as case 3 may exam temples, 5 force as it had plenty of info. case 1/2 do not have much info.

My feeling after reading this case is it was talking about
The role of leadership in strategy implementaion.. The case talked not only Jobs but also other senior management..
Another feeling is about product development: the case seems talked about how they develop the prodcut - focus a lot more on Customer needs and how IPOD is performing better than competitors..

How do you guys think about it?

I understand that we are trying to relate it to relevant modules.. but this case is just to vague to pinpoint where they really want to test..

i agree, I think the risktaker is after the ipod time, from focus on apple's computer to introduce ipod, i think its a surgeon. any other thoughts?

so do we analyse the life cycle from the portable digital music player industry or from the ipod industry itself? I'm little confused regarding this... Do we classified Apple in the portable digital music player industry and from here we analyze all the related theory(eg life cycle, 5 forces and TEMPLES)?

关于iPOD 是否是blue ocea strategy ,我觉得可以算是,但是有点儿勉强。问到:Generic Strategy 是 Differentiation   问到Other Strategy 也许可以考虑, Innovative and Learning strategy 中的 Solution Strategy.
