really? "using [something] for" is just everyday English, I don't see anything Chinglish here. What would you say?

我想说的是"用网络来学习语言"这个是个典型的中式思维, "语言学习"应该是主体, 通过网络是途径, 英语是母语的人要表达这个意思会怎么组织语言?

By visiting English language sites, you'll also learn all sorts of vocabulary specifically related to Internet sites and their usage.

这种想法会不会太中式？
到处都是＂using the internet for research" "how to use the Internet to find a job" "ways to use the Internet for business"
为什么simple English就不是好English？

I'm not a native speaker, however I've seen enough "using Internet for xxx" said by native speakers to know that there is nothing Chinglish about this expression.

Language 在此是多余的。  既然前面已经特指了是english websites， 咋又突然冒出一个internet sites。 前后不连贯呀。

我个人认为， 合适的说法应该是：
By visiting English sites, you'll also learn all sorts of vocabulary specifically related to those sites and their usage.

I'd personally say:

By spending time on English language sites, you'll also learn about Internet vocabulary & memes, appreciate them, and know how/when to use them.

So -

1. nothing is wrong with "English language site". "English" by itself can mean many different things. It's totally appropriate to clarify the usage by scoping it with "language".

2. "Internet sites" is something I won't use personally, it does sound a bit odd, but dude, we all use odd words from time to time. Being a native speaker doesn't mean one uses every word perfectly.

And overall, I'm quite amazed by this entire quest to prove the ethnicity of the OP. I simply don't get what the fuss is about.

根据楼主的上下文， 他说的sites 并不是指英语的语言学习网站。 而是指一般的（英语）网站。 句子中的English， 根据上下文已经是有英语的意思了。完全没有必要加language。就如我们平时说“中文”。 我们不会说“中文语言”。这个句子后面的internet sites 是他前面所指的那些English sites。 用代词才合乎语法。 受过高等教育的鬼佬在这些方面是很少出错的。 更不用说是楼主这样的“English writer” 呵呵。

通篇读下来就是感觉不象英语是母语的人写的, 还是KA娃说得对, 如果楼主真是TRUE BLUE的话, 那他就是特别写的简单英语来好让我们懂的.

Australia got talent and you are definitely a live example although the official trio judge panel can hardly appreciate your talent.

Do you have a Chinese name?  I mean when you were in Beijing learning Chinese, I’d imagine you might have one just as most Chinese here in Australia,  naming themselves with an English name. It can’t be 本地人 though.  Did your Chinese name bear any aural resemblance to your original Christian name or does it in anyway associate with your aspirations? ^-^

Given your current hot status, your name itself can be just a trademark.  If I were you I might consider opening a training centre (Major: Chinese/English; Minor: IT) in a Chinese city such as Beijing capitalising on your experience with this city and your very genius in this domain, plus you seem to possess some entrepreneurship as you are starting your own business anyway.

楼主给很多人上了一课，包括我自己，曾经一度我也怀疑你的征婚贴是哗众取宠的。

这告诉我们永远不要以自己有限的经验和知识去对任何事任何人下定论。

谢谢楼主分享学习语言的方法。

还有上面有些挑楼主英文的刺的同学，何必呢？你通篇读下来，觉得他的英文重要还是他说的话重要呢？为什么人要这么狭隘？只相信自己愿意相信的？而不去看看真正有帮助的东西？自己限制自己的思维和眼界呢？

还有给一些看到英文长篇大论就不想读的同学，其实包括我自己在内有时候也这样，但是想要真正提高，要慢慢克服这个问题~~共勉`

I admit my wrong judgement on this matter but I do reserve my opinion that the OP still has a room to improve his writing skills unless he can show us a better structured and worded essay.  And this thread was posted in the English Learning sub-forum, we should be able to make comments on what he wrote here or even pick on his grammar errors regardless whether he is a true local.  We all are glad to see the OP has proved his genuine identity, but with regards to the English Learning topic here, we look forward to seeing more contribution from him.

His performance in Chinese as he proved is just phenomenal. His achievement in Chinese made him famed in the Chinese community. If he could take advantage of this momentum, he could expect a massive career and/or life prospect in China. Any mainstream Chinese media if they picked up this story could make him an every household  name in China and if that medium’s got good spin skills, I could imagine only sky is the limit for his future, a prospect to beat Canadian Dashan at least….

But of course it depends on all circumstances and factors such as his personality if he is a low key person, not fame driven, etc, etc..

Even if he throws in a better structured and worded essay,  you would still go " Gee, doesn't that sound chinglish?

只因为这篇文章的作者是“本地人”，所以一些读者变得分外苛刻挑剔起来。如果是移民写的，95%以上估计都在夸写得多么流畅地道

并不是每个澳洲本地人的写作水平都比英语为第二语言的人高。

作者在这里谈如何利用互联网资源学习语言的初衷是好的，因为作为移民的我们经常会将“我英语不太好，影响了职业发展”等作为一个话题来谈。结果却引发了对作者语言/写作能力的残酷评论。哈 哈

曾几何时，我自己在语言学习上也很挑剔较真，不过这几年下来觉得除非你是要当语言学家 专心研究某门语言的发展和使用 否则真的没必要  说白了语言就是一个工具 思路清楚 表达清楚 吐字清楚就够了  CHINGLISH不CHINGLISH真的有那么那么的重要么？！
