工程今年内完工,PC的TX又多一个运动的好去处
With the development of a $9.19 million sports precint called Saltwater Reserve under construction, Point Cook is quickly becoming a sporting hub in Wyndham, according to the council and developer.
The developers of housing estate Saltwater Coast, which Saltwater Reserve will border, said Point Cook's new sporting facility are needed for the area's young population.
"With almost 35 per cent of Point Cook's population aged under 19, these new sport and recreation facilities will provide terrific facilities for our growing community," Evian Delfabbro, FKP Executive General Manager of residential properties said.
When finished, the Point Cook Road Reserve will feature:
Three AFL football and cricket ovals, including the synthetic oval;
Eight tennis courts, with the provision for future expansion;
Three soccer fields;
Passive recreational facilities such as shared trails including work out stations, shelters and barbecue amenities; and
Associated facilities such as pavilions and car parking.
Point Cook Football Club will also make the new reserve their official home ground when it is finished.
Truganina Ward Councillor Kim McAliney said once completed, the Point Cook Road Reserve would be one of the biggest sporting facilities in Melbourne's west.
“When this project is completed in 2012, Point Cook will be home to a state of the art facility where they can do everything from have a hit of tennis to holding a barbecue with friends,” Cr McAliney said.
In additional to the substantial works Wyndham City is undertaking at Saltwater Reserve, there is also work being done on a number of other sporting reserves in Point Cook, including construction of two soccer pitches and a pavilion at Innisfail Reserve, and construction of a pavilion at Alamanda Reserve.
