Heron Flat picnic area (site 25)

Jenkins Hill picnic area

Picnic tables at Jenkins Hill picnic area can accommodate a wheelchair and the toilet is wheelchair accessible.
Jenkins Hill picnic area is located close to the Lane Cove River and weir. There’s a children’s playground that the kids are bound to enjoy and you’ll find picnic tables dotted around the area.
It’s a great place to laze the afternoon away after a tasty picnic or barbecue lunch. Lie back on the grass, gazing up among the trees above and you’ll be sure to spy a lorikeet or two and perhaps a kookaburra. If you’re feeling more energetic, you could bring your canoe or kayak for a spot of paddling along the river. Keep your eyes out for spoonbills wading through the water.

Getting there: Jenkins Hill picnic area is on the eastern side of Lane Cove River. To get there, take Fullers Road from the Pacific Highway and turn right into Lady Game Drive just before crossing the bridge. Look for the park entry gates on your left.
Road access: Sealed road - 2WD vehicles.

Koonjeree picnic area (site 1)
This picnic area is a large, flat grassy area overlooking the river with scattered tables providing covered seating for up to 40 people and uncovered seating for up to 12 people.

Moola picnic area
Wheelchair access: easy
A picnic table at Moola picnic area can accommodate a wheelchair and there are wheelchair accessible toilets.
The sounds of the birds singing from trees that rustle with the wind, it won’t take you long to relax at this scenic spot right next to the Lane Cove River.
Moola picnic area is one of the park’s most popular places, there are plenty of facilities, including wood and electric barbecues and you can pick up an ice-cream or cold drink from the boatshed kiosk.
Once you’ve enjoyed your picnic or barbecue lunch, you can head off along the Riverside walk to explore the bushland of Lane Cove National Park. If you’d like to travel by water and you didn’t bring your own vessel, it’s easy to hire a row boat, canoe or pedal boat from the Lane Cove Boatshed.

Getting there: Moola picnic area is on Riverside Drive in the southern part of Lane Cove National Park. Access to Riverside Drive is via Delhi Road at West Chatswood or Lane Cove Road at Ryde.
Road access: Sealed road - 2WD vehicles.
Facilities: picnic tables, wood barbecues (bring your own firewood), gas/electric barbecues (free), flush toilets, boat ramp, cafe/kiosk, carpark, drinking water, trackhead/access point

The Oaks picnic area (site 27)
Located across the road from the river this picnic area is set amongst the trees with large grassy areas and uncovered seating for up to 24 people.

Tunks Hill picnic area (site 21)
This hilltop picnic area has a large, flat, grassy area with scattered tables providing uncovered seating for up to 20 people overlooking Chatswood.

Vehicle entry fee:
$7 per vehicle per day.
bus passengers: $4.40 per adult, $2.20 per child.
Tunks Hill picnic area (site 23)

This hilltop picnic area has scattered tables providing uncovered seating for up to 30 people beside a small playground overlooking Chatswood.
