我在chemist warehouse网站找到了这个,可能就是为什么这么多人买这个蜂蜜吧?
Description
Manuka Honey has been found to have high antibacterial activity against a variety of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and epidermis, Streptococcus pyogenes and Enterobacteriaceae.
"Active Manuka Honey" is the only honey available for sale that is tested for its antibacterial activity. It contains an extra antibacterial component found only in honey produced from Leptospermum plants that is referred to as the "Unique Manuka Factor (UMF)". A honey with the same properties as Manuka Honey has been found to be produced from Leptospermum polygalifolium, a bush that grows naturally in some parts of Australia.
Medical Use
Active Manuka Honey is being used by some medical professionals to treat wounds (e.g. skin ulcers) that have not responded to standard treatment. A small number of clinical case studies have shown that application of therapeutic honey, such as Manuka honey, to severely infected wounds helps to clear infection from the wound and improving tissue healing. Research has also indicated that honey has antibacterial properties, may possess antiinflammatory activity and stimulate immune responses within a wound. The overall effect is to reduce infection and to enhance wound healing in burns, ulcers, and other wounds.
See the Honey and Wound Care topic for more information.
Active Manuka Honey is used in a variety of products, including:
- Woundcare creams (believed to reduce infection, assist tissue growth, reduce scarring and assist healing).
- Edible honey (believed to help relieve stomach ulcer symptoms, aid sensitive digestion, maintain a healthy intestinal bacteria balance, soothe sore throats, aid oral hygiene, enhance general health). |
