I don' t think it has entered a new market. If you read page 1, it says PFL sells to retailers and food service outlets(sport venues or cafe). So it's existing distribution channel includes sporting venues already. It is neither a new channel nor it's a new market.
What do you guys think.

Hi Ninakim,
My opinion its just about the product development. Check first and third paragraph, it uses words like ' innovative new range of Smoothie...', 'new frozen Smoothie...', 'product innovation'; which indicate its a new product targeting the existing 'dessert' market?

i think we need to define what is the current products and what is the current mkts. The current market is In-Home (retailers, eg supermarket) and out-of-home (foodservice outlets, eg sporting venues or cafes). and the current products are Frozen Savoury, Dessert and Fruit. The contract win for BP sites, I think it is a new distribution channel for In-Home, should it be mkt penetration? For Smoothie cubes i think it is product development (expanding the product line - adding different flavour options). For sports stadiums, the product is unchanged, the mkt is unchanged (in australia and Out-of-Home), the purpose is to attract new customer to gain greater market share of existing customer segments, should be mkt penetration, right?

hey, do you think that the halal products with the intention of growing sales in Asia should be one of the plan for growth? and do you think Asia is the current mkt or the new mkt? thanks.

I got my idea from page 2.56. This case is talking about the 'Frozen food industry', and it includes 'frozen savoury, dessert and fruit' market. Or In-home and out-of-home Market.
It depends on how we define the customer need.

BP supplies hot pie and sausage rolls, people would consume immediately, so it is new distribution channel for out-of-home service. Four and twenty did not create a new channel, but it entered northern states, is this a new market?

It has not entered Asia yet, but it has the intention. So it is a new market.

i don't think it is a new market by entering into northern states, as the current geo market is in Australia, not saying a specific region. so as i said,  the purpose is to attract new customer to gain greater market share of existing customer segments (foodservice outlet, eg sporting venues). thanks.

You are right. Case 1 is not talking about new market, it has somthing to do with new products but it is more likely that the case factor is related to 5q, strategic capabilities, corporate strategy ect. What do u think.

MAYBE just the capability not the strategic capability, coz the key success factors of the industry is not available in this case

i am not sure about strategic capabilities, because there is few info in the case we can refer to answer it.. I think could be related to 5Q, BSC and Ansoff..

Asia is a current market as it said: "has DEVELOPED", from my understanding, it sounds like a new entry (market penetration) which plan to achieve more growth in the future.

Regarding the Customer perspective of BSC. Is it relates to the sentences "strong relationship with major supermarket" which lead to repeat business and product loyalty? as Supermarket is the key customers.

What do you guys think?

But in my opinion, is has entered. As the sentence sounds this way: "has developed" (already developed), "intention of growing sales" (entered but not grow as expected yet, wish to had more growth in sales in the future). What do you think?
