火车站楼上的shopping mall,food court好像建了一半就一直闲置了,感觉挺可惜的
对呀,这件事情还在扯皮,反正投资的那些商铺的倒了大霉了。
原来规划里Woolworths就是开在那个地方二楼的。。。

Retailers rail against $360m

THE State Government has washed its hands of the building debacle at Chatswood station.
This is despite owning the land that the $360 million Transport Interchange project is built on - and initiating the project in 2000.
Transport Minister David Campbell said his department had no role to play in the building dispute, which has left Chatswood with a wasteland of hoardings instead of a thriving retail centre.
Plans for the Metro Chatswood retail centre include a Woolworths supermarket, 80 specialty shops and a food court, built on four levels.
Angry shopkeepers on the eastern side of the station, tired of trading next door to what’s been dubbed the Chatswood White Elephant, have urged the government to intervene.
Willoughby Council has written to Premier Kristina Keneally to intervene, but has not had a reply. This follows earlier fruitless calls to then premier Nathan Rees.
Instead, the dispute - over an alleged $30 million of building defects in the retail section of the interchange - has reached the Supreme Court. Interchange retail centre owner Precision has begun action against builder CRI on contractual matters.
Dr Bhagyesh Patel co-owns the busy Station Medical Clinic, next door to the shopping complex site.
“We have problems with lift access for our elderly patients, and we’re boxed in by the hoardings, so people are loitering and even urinating in the downstairs area. “The State Government was responsible for the whole project, they should show some political will to get this resolved.”
Jerome Loong, of Shand’s Pharmacy next door, said the hoarded off area was a “void” that turned people off. “When the complex opens and the shops are leased, it will generate a lively business atmosphere, but now there’s nothing,” Mr Loong said.
Willoughby Mayor Pat Reilly said the successful completion of the interchange was crucial as part of a major redevelopment of Chatswood, which includes the $5 million revamp of Chatswood Mall and the council’s $162 million Concourse project.
Mr Campbell said the train and bus transport components of the project opened in 2008.
“The sale of the retail component is a contract between the private sector developer and the private sector retail purchaser.
“Under the Public Private Partnership agreement, it is the private sector that is responsible for developing the retail elements of the interchange.”
