i can only see it being used once here except that you quoted....
and as such I don't agree once is too many/often...

不厚道的认为lz正好借此机会想去中国休个假。。。。。。
开个玩笑，回到正题，既然大老板都发话了，还是不要正面越级去问为什么吧。换作是我，私下问下你老板到底是什么原因，就算了.机会一直是有的，千载难逢说的有点大了。真的对这个项目有兴趣，想办法transfer去那个team是正解。

没什么好争论的，BOY说的有道理，不应该越权
dynamix所说的只是站在他的经验立场来讲，他的老板是个好说话的，所以他觉得楼主也应该说出来。大家都是为了楼主好，还是把决定权还给楼主把

I am looking for an opportunity to visit my hometown in china early next year as my big boss mentioned that he needs me to do a some business for him while I am in China.... i mean these days as Australia has such hot relations with China, it can be confusing if the business is for private purpose or vice versa...
the bosses can expect to save some travel fee incurred if the employee is on his/her way home for annual leave for example in the first place...In my opinion, Lz's idea to capitalizing on his/her holiday to do this project is a wonderful idea....and while a lot of pals here seem to see the risk to high to argue with the  (big) boss for this matter again, I said LZ needs to CATCH Opportunity to engage in a dialogue with boss in a manner of as casual as possible occasion like a chat..well...good luck to lz..whatever...

I cannot agree more that lz should not escalate to go direct to the boardroom to argue with the No. 1
BUT, he must endeavor to have her voice heard by whoever it is concerned...before...this opportunity slips away...
this means even if she/he is not very close to the head of the business; it is his/her right to champion this course as it is beneficial to both the company and himself.... i believe in a democratic society, an APPROPRIATELY raised personal idea will not be treated with hatred unless the business itself runs an unhealthy corporate culture...

一回来几经这么多回复了，谢谢大家的建议。上午心情极差，刚又忙得要命，所以一直没空回复。

这周背到极点了，昨天我等了2个月的培训在最后一刻取消了。我早上都走出门了，培训公司打电话来说那老师前一天晚上食物中毒那会正在医院里急救呢。不知道下次又要等到何时。今天进了公司打开邮件就看到上月的考试我以一题之差挂了。700分及格我考了696分，每题是4分的。在之后经理就告诉我这个噩耗。

言归正传，我实在咽不下这口气，吃午饭的时候我已经同经理说了，我个人是非常想去的，因为这是一个对我现在所学的东西很好的实践， 我愿意请年假去干。他说他今晚再同他老板说一下（他老板在欧洲）。
这里说一下，我经理人很不错，他今天也很难受。因为他已经同那部门经理说好了。今天这样变卦了，人家已经生气了。我之所以如此看重这个机会，因为这做的和我这几个月所学的和考的东西几乎是一样的，这就是一个最好的实践了。而且那经理已经说了，这次之后还会有别的机会。但这次如果就这样黄了，以后就不会再找我了。而这东西是我最想要做的，也是我以后职业的方向。
大家知道，想要做自己最理想的职业，并不是你光自己努力（类似自学，靠证书）就行的，很多时候你需要这么个机遇让你踏进这个门槛。这本来就是这样一个机遇，直到昨天我都在庆幸自己运气好基于这么快就来了，但今天情形就急转直下了。顺便说下，这一周的项目对我这行业来说已经不算小的了，我是做信息安全和系统审计的。

到现在我也不知道是什么利益冲突。可能老板的老板就是觉得我去帮别的部门做事情不爽吧。因为我们部门得不到任何好处而且还要让我离开一个星期。

我想lz说的利益冲突不是老板舍不得花这样的T&Lcost, 而是其他方面的。
你说的这样情况，在我们公司一定是反过来，就是如果我需要出差去中国，我可以申请完事后在中国休假，一般老板都不会有什么问题的；不会出现你说的这种情况，我申请去中国休假，老板说你顺便帮我处理点中国的公事，我老板肯定不会开这个口。这个我想是公司文化的问题。
