"I'm originally from London but I've lived in the Campbelltown/Ingleburn area for 20 years now, and it's fine. I've made some good friends here and the place has most of the facilities you'll need – decent public transport excepted. House prices are relatively cheap and good value. There is no aircraft noise as such, and the place is close to the bush. Most of the people here are genuine, down-to-earth Aussies, some people call them bogans, but that is a reflection of their own snobbishness. I tried living at Bondi Beach about ten years ago but I hated the snobbishness and all the wannabees so I came back to Campbelltown to live with the "bogans".
Cons: it will take you 45min to get into the city, .... Forget the M5 unless you enjoy sitting in your car. Local buses are useless and overpriced. There's no nightlife as such, nor is there any cafe culture. Most of the pubs are just drinking pits. There are a few decent places to dine out, but not many. In short, entertainment is limited. |
