剛剛收到学校(小学)的newsletter,有一段我觉得蛮对题的。跟大家分享一下:
BUILDING INDEPENDENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY
In recent weeks, we have noticed a significant increase in the number of parents who have delivered to School Reception items that their daughters have left at home that morning: school projects or other homework items, lunch boxes and drink bottles, or sports uniforms and equipment, for example. Whilst it is natural for parents to step in and want to help in such circumstances (particularly if there may be negative consequences for the child if they have forgotten an important item), it is important that we all work together to support our girls in learning to take responsibility themselves for remembering to bring required items to school. Facing the consequences of their actions is most often the best way to support them in remembering to bring items in future. For this reason, we would encourage parents not to be too willing to bail their children out but rather hold them accountable for their actions by not delivering forgotten items and allowing them to learn an important lesson in taking personal responsibility for their belongings. |
