最近eBay 论坛上有个帖子,谈是怎么做起网上生意的,这儿有个例子。
Here's my story...
Started just over 2 years ago because I needed money to fix my house which I was slowly renovating. So, as others have done, sold some things around the house. Sold an old fold up pool table purchased a few years prior from the trading post. I paid about $500 for it and sold on eBay for about $750. I was very shocked and impressed. So took a big risk to buy a 20ft container (38 pcs) of pool tables from China. Had to sell other equipment and stuff around the house on eBay to pay for it. I was hoping to make a couple hundred dollars per week by selling one table every week or 2 for a year, to supplement my wages. When I first listed them on eBay, they were hugely popular and sucessful. Had to give up my job as a builders labourer because I was just too busy. Was profiting about $4000-5000/week from eBay sales and online Trading Post sales.
Just over 2 years later, business is better than ever.
Been building up a gym equipment supply business on eBay and online for the last 2 years. Since ebay took store searches out, we basicaly went fixed price for everything and sales slowly increased. We don't try to compete on price so margins are good. At turnover around the 2 million level, it's about as much as my partner and I can handle right now. It has been the hardest and most demanding and challenging work I have ever done in my life.
I'm so thankful for the marketplace eBay has developed.
My biggest tip I can offer others selling physical products online:
Invest the time to take unique, quality, detailed photos
