这是今年精英考试一个孩子的作文,觉得描述还可以,虽然没啥思想深度可言。
This wasn’t right. Nothing made sense! What had I done wrong?
I am an inventor. A brilliant one should I say. I invent for NASA. I design space shuttles, Mars rovers and rockets. I lead the design and engineering teams. We’ve been successful so far with our developing. Until now…
The day was filled with excitement, people running around the field, putting up another set of bleachers and cameras ready to film. No, this isn’t an athletics carnival, it’s a NASA 50th anniversary space rocket launch. Thousands of people were already in the stands, all were looking happy and nervous.
The NASA staff called for silence and everyone started to settle down. The CEO came out to wild applause and waved at the crowd. I was beaming. Nothing bad could happen today. The CEO gave his impressive speech and even acknowledged my work.
It was time for the launch of our newest, most sophisticated shuttle ever; the Turtle Two-Thousand! Its green hexagonal pattern glinted in the sunlight. This would be a solo flight by a space rover who was due to land on, and named: Mars. The engines roared with happiness and they started up. Slowly, the countdown began with the crowd chanting. 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!! Blast off!!! I braced myself for the bright red flames to burst out. But they didn’t come. Instead, rainbow confetti rained out. Surprisingly, the shuttle was still moving up.
Sure, this wasn’t supposed to happen but it still was amazing. Back at HQ, boss wasn’t angry, in fact, he congratulated me on bringing such a wonderful surprise! If only he knew that it was a Mistake. |
