Our company is a newly set up business located in Melbourne CBD. The company is a dynamic financial group in China and recently boarded to Melbourne to expand their overseas market. We would like to seek a suitable English to Chinese (Mandarin) interpreter to join our team. The interpreter will be working with the CEO and assisting with interpreting English to Chinese/ Chinese to English on a professional and casual basis. Ideally, the successful candidate is someone from western background and had previous experience in finance industry.
Below are the main requirements and responsibilities of this position:
1. Listening to speaker’s statements to determine meanings and to prepare translations, and be able to translate messages simultaneously or consecutively into Chinese (Mandarin) orally.
2. Have the ability to identify and resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors. Have the flexibility to explaining ideas and concepts in a precise and clear way.
3. Following ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.
4. Have relevant interpreting certificate and at least one-year interpreting experience.
