如何成为注册税务师（Register as Tax Agent)？

本人CPA，之前工作经验都是Commercial Area。现在想转Firm，争取自己注册为Tax Agent。今后独立发展。请问需要什么条件。Firm里需要工作几年。需要CPA的Public Practice Certificate吗？Firm的工作经验有没有具体要求。比如做满多少个Individual, Company, Trust等的Case。请教开已经注册为Tax Agent的师兄师姐。拜谢。(paopaobing(51))

在Registering as an individual tax agent下，我的情况是属于A. Tertiary qualification in accountancy，

Tertiary qualification in accountancy
¨        One of the following:
a degree or post-graduate award in accountancy from an Australian tertiary institution
a degree or award in accountancy approved by the Board from an equivalent institution.
¨         A course in commercial law approved by the Board.
¨         A course in Australian taxation law approved by the Board.
¨        12 months of full-time relevant experience in the preceding five years.

我是Bachelor Degreee of Accounting from Macquarie University，而且已经通过CPA。
我通过的LAW COURSES有以下几门：
1. Business Law
2. Corporation Law
3. Revenue Law
4. Taxation (CPA)
请教已经Register as Tax Agent的高人们，我还需要读任何Law的课程吗，12个月的全职相关工作经验是怎样计算的，是否需要两个Senior Tax Agents 作为Referee在我的申请上签字证明，是否需要完成一定数量的Case (including individual, company, trust, partnership and superannuation)。另外，还有人说，注册Tax Agent之前需要先买professional indemnity (PI) insurance，还需要public practice certificate。请教各路前辈。拜谢！

谢谢， 最难的是“ 12 months of full-time relevant experience in the preceding five years.” ，很难找到工作，不想干那些“no pay" 的 工作，连交通费和中午的饭钱，都亏了。

I am sure you can find the job at firm.

just need take time anyway.

by the way,  before i find job at firm, i did work for free for 3 hours each day. I worked anther job at afternoon. ;)
few mths later , i found a full time job at firm. ;)

But I think you will be much better as you get CPA ;)

Hi, mate. lf I get some experience from training program, such as VE Accounting. Will it helpful when I am looking for full time job?
By the way, does your firm need more person right now?

As you know, any training and work experience is helpful.

Sorry, our firm is not recruiting  any one at this moment.

because our firm is quite small and not too busy , that is why I can assess this blog always.

But i am pretty sure you can find the job soon. ;)

Thanks for your comment. By they way, do you have any suggestions for me to look for jobs in accounting firm? I have no idea in job searching. It is totally different from accounting jobs in commercial area.

谢谢了。顺便问一句，找工作时要不要告诉事务所的老板我已经CPA QUALIFIED。有时候觉得Over Qualified，找这一类型的工作成功几率会很低。

刚收到TPB的信，说我不符合Regulation Item 201，以为为内容：
“As far as your qualifications are concerned you meet 203 (a) (b) (d) under the transitional provision.

However your application must be lodged prior to 30 June 2014 and you are also required to demonstrate that you have been engaged in the equivalent of 2 years of full time relevant experience.”

我很困惑，按照网站要求，我应该是符合 Item 201的，难道Bachelor Degree of Accounting from Macquarie University 不是Tertiary Qualifications in Accountancy？

201  - Tertiary qualifications in accountancy -  Equivalent of 12 months full-time in the
preceding five years

203 - Diploma or higher award in accountancy - Equivalent of two years full-time in the
preceding five years

请各位前辈指点。

应该是要求你要有12个月的Full time 工作经验吧。澳洲要求都是工作经验。

虽然没申请过TAX AGENT，但根据你提供的信息来看，是要求你有本科学历加上12个月的工作经验，所以TPB是说你不满足12个月相关工作经验的意思吧。

具体的你应该看回相关的法律条文 Tax Agent Services Regulation 2009 - Reg Item 201：

Tertiary qualifications in accountancy
    201       A requirement is that:
                (a)    the individual has been awarded:
                          (i)    a degree or a post-graduate award from an Australian tertiary institution in the discipline of accountancy; or
                         (ii)    a degree or award that is approved by the Board from an equivalent institution in the discipline of accountancy; and
               (b)    the individual has successfully completed a course in commercial law that is approved by the Board; and
                (c)    the individual has successfully completed a course in Australian taxation law that is approved by the Board; and
               (d)    the individual has been engaged in the equivalent of 12 months of full-time, relevant experience in the preceding 5 years.

而关于相关工作经验的定义在Reg Item 207：

Division 2       Meaning of relevant experience
    207       For Division 1, relevant experience means work by an individual:
                (a)    as a tax agent registered under the Act; or
               (b)    as a tax agent registered under Part VIIA of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936; or
                (c)    under the supervision and control of a tax agent registered under the Act; or
               (d)    under the supervision and control of a tax agent registered under the previous regulatory regime contained in Part VIIA of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936; or
                (e)    as an Australian legal practitioner; or
                (f)    of another kind approved by the Board;
in the course of which the individual’s work has included substantial involvement in 1 or more of the types of tax agent services described in section 90-5 of the Act, or substantial involvement in a particular area of taxation law to which 1 or more of those types of tax agent services relate.

TPB 要求的是两年工作经验。这是我困惑的地方。

另外，TPB指出现在是transition period，直到 30 June 2014。不知道过了那个日期之后，注册会有什么变化。但肯定的是，会越来越难。不会变容易了。哎。先进事务所再说吧。

顶一个，请事务所的TX出来谈谈自身经验。一开始时如何进入事务所的？看了很多广告，都是需要招有经验的。还有许多是要自己花钱买培训。提供3个月左右经验。难道一定要走后者才行嘛。

另外请教事务所招工旺季时什么时候？什么时候出手去找共最好？拜谢！

基本上你就算读了会计本科/硕士 还是会要另外读课程的 你考的CPA里面如果有TAX LAW的话可以抵一个UNIT  我就是还缺两个law

要知道自己到底缺哪个  我当时是递了申请以后才发现哪些课不够的 TPB会发email给你

我是firm的 5年经验了 第一份工是华人事务所 毕业后就找的，一开始part time $12/hr 呵呵 后来有经验了 慢慢跳到鬼佬 中间也换了4，5家。市场上一般3-5年经验senior 工资 大概是60k －65k左右加super 这样吧 个人感觉没有commercial 高 压力还大
就算做firm有些老板也不愿意签经验 因为觉得你会把客户带走 不过我之前firm同事工作了好几年都签了
不过单干也不容易啊
