下面是原文阿. 我对effective from Feb 2008这句话的理解是,从明年才开始执行。但是这个BOARD是NSW的。
Please note that the School of Nursing & Midwifery has recently been
advised by the NSW Nurses & Midwives Board about changes to requirements
for registration for international applicats, effecive from Feb 2008.
Language Requirements for Registration for International students
We have received formal advice from the NSW Nurses and Midwives Board about changes in the requirements for English language proficiency required for international applicants to register as a nurse.
Effective from 1 February, 2008, international people who are applying for registration with NSW NMB need to meet at least one of the following:
- minimum 2 year full time equivalent study in the course leading to eligibility to apply for registration;
- evidence of 2 years full time attendance in a program of study in one of the following countries Aust, NZ UK, Ireland, USA, Canada;
- prior registration with NSW NMB;
- formal language test results equivalent to IELTS 7.0 with no individual score below 6.5, achieved within 2 years prior to the application.
Currently most of the international students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing program would not be able to meet any of these criteria. The majority of students elect to complete only 1 year full time in the program and have IELTS 6.5 or have completed the ELFS English language program without a formal IELTS test.
While this will not pose a problem for students who enrolled at the beginning of 2007 (because they should complete and apply for registration before the implementation date of this new requirement), it may pose a very considerable challenge for the people who have been recruited and who are currently completing the english language program. It is essential that these students are advised that they will need to undertake a formal IELTS test and achieve a score of 7.0 before they apply for registration.
This information also needs to be provided to all recruitment agents. |
