咨询：小女4岁刚来墨尔本，怎么去预约学校？

女儿四岁了，去年12月刚来澳洲，1月中旬生日，现在deakin幼儿园，明年1月中旬就五岁了，刚知道这边上小学需要预约，现在是不是有点晚了

请各位过来的父母给点建议

私校太贵对于我们刚来的来说上不起，所以就是选择公立的或者教会的

咨询现在还能报上名得还不算太差的学校，位置在这块的，哪块有合适的我们准备搬到哪块去，帮忙给建议一下，十分感谢

1,Bentleigh，Bentleigh east，区域（我们想去这个区域居住，但是对这个区的学校一点也不了解，又在这周围居住的帮忙一下，谢谢）
2,Box hill,Box hill south,burwood，burwood easta
3,Glen Waverley区域


还有听说教会学校很不错，我想问一下要是为了孩子去信教，多久后才可能进教会学校，感谢

你先去教育局网站输入地址，查家庭地址所属学校
然后打电话去学校预约一次参观，同时领一份报名表回来，填好，再交回去

先打电话问学校你是否属于学校区。然后预约参观，填表就好了。不晚，我女儿也是4岁最近才在找学校。

Basically there are two types of schools, government schools and independent schools.   Government school is owned by the State government and the teachers and staff are civil servants.   Independent schools have different varieties.  All independent schools are operated "independently".   They can have their own curriculum and agendas.  Grammar schools (or the so called private school) and some religions related schools (Muslims and Catholic and some other religions) are the mainly two sub divisions of the independent schools.  Grammar schools school fees are most expensive.  It can cost up to 20k more more per year.   Catholic schools are also good but relatively cheaper.   ( I cannot say much about muslin's schools as I do not know much).  Some catholic schools charges about 5-10k per year.  But if the school named as "Regional", it charges much less.  Some time a few hundred dollars per year.  Of course, regional catholic schools are not good as formal catholic schools but still better than the government schools.   

However, I have to say some of the government schools are as good as the grammar schools.   You may need to ask the local parents or check MySchool to see if they are up to your expectations.  Honestly, most of the time, it really depends on the kids themselves and the parents.  The origin of the kids are more important, studies found.
