my friend's son is 17 years old , now is GAO 2, ( shoudl be equal to Y11 here). want to
board a high school here.
Money is no problem, just want to join a good school and close to Kogarah.

they went to agents in china , the agent recommend a number of the  school:

sydney secondary college--blackwattle bay campus
       tempe high school
      randwick boys/girls high school
      kingsgrove high school
       turramurra high school
      cleveland street intensive english high school
       concord high school
      the scots college


the boy intend to take an english language course in the next half of this year, and join the Y11 or Y12 class.

can anyone give some comment??

好的公校很抢手，2012年的位子大多都满了。

剩下就是排名普通的公校了。那几个公校里TURRAMURRA还行，但离开KOGARAH太远

LZ 指的BOARD是要寄宿？公校没寄宿的。

两家私校就不太清楚是否提供寄宿了。你可以打电话给学校问问，是否收海外生住宿

and the the scots college ?
And I know the Tempe HS has the selective class, but this boy english is very basic, also the Kingsgrove HS
are they just very SOSO?

我觉得Scots不错啊。
不过费用也比Randwick boys等公校的高多了。 学费Year 12 是2万8 （oversea 3万多）， Boarding另加2万左右。公校的话，一万多的学费吧。

Scots是有boarding的。 boarding的条件大多数学校都很差的，Scots的是很老的房子，十几个人一个大间。以为很差了，可是看了另一家名校设在大阳台上的boarding之后， 想想Scots至少还有墙壁不是塑料膜，不错了。

要说近Kogarah， 好像您列的没几家离的近的。

those 2 public schools are just soso, not tooo bad. tuition fee is about AUD13000.00 per year.

private college - not sure about their entry criteria for overseas students.

IEC的话， cleveland street intensive english high school是一个选折，Marrickville intensive english high school 质量更好一点，毕业以后再根据了解报合适你的学校，
拿着你IEC的成绩一家一家求面试。
如果英语还不过关，可能会被要求都Yr10，不然的话yr11。
