分享一下有趣的沉船观光点。澳洲政府专门把一条退役主战舰,所有玻璃,门,拆掉,然后炸沉在海底。非常澳式,用心良苦,大家别辜负了。
The Ex-HMAS Adelaide Dive Site
What it is: The Ex-HMAS Adelaide is a former Australian naval warship (an Oliver Perry-class guided-missile frigate) that was purposely scuttled (sunk) in 2011 to create an artificial reef.
Location: It lies off Avoca Beach, just south of Terrigal, in about 32-35 meters of water. It's a very short boat ride from Terrigal Haven.
The "Pre-Warship" Part: While it was a former warship, it wasn't a "pre-war" wreck in the historical sense (like WWI or WWII era). However, Terrigal does have other historical wrecks like the SS Galava (sank in 1927) nearby, which is a much deeper dive (50+ meters) and is an older coastal steamer, not a warship. The Adelaide is the main attraction for warship diving. |
