seeking to change current role now and wondering which way is better to go for hunting junior engineering positions . any advices are welcome !

Personally, you could do both at same time since you could have the most employment information.

However, to contact with employer directly is always to give you better chance to get the position! (Agents also have to contact the employers) Thus, 70% effort on empolyer directly and 30% effort on agent could be an option!
