For statistical purposes, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) defines a small business as an actively trading business with 0–19 employees. Micro businesses are small businesses with 0–4 employees.
Fair Work Act defines a small business as an actively trading business with 0–14 employees.
For taxation purposes, the definition of a small business depends on its annual turnover.
This is only for Australia.
Depends on population size, different countries have different definitions of what small business is.
