Today sees us top off an already hugely exciting year of cloud activity with another, but certainly not final, step towards providing ultimate choice for our customers when choosing their cloud environment.

Cisco Cloud Services, an OpenStack based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering, will from this week, be available in Australia exclusively from Telstra for the next 18 months.

This is a world first that will enable our customers to launch applications faster; scale automatically; and run web-scale applications – such as analytics, or mobile and social apps.

Our differentiator in cloud has always been a combination of both the strength of our solutions, the choice and flexibility of our technology and our service delivery capability. Now, with the general availability of Cisco Cloud Services, we can do even more to help our customers better build, control and manage their evolving business environments.

Cisco Cloud Services will be delivered from our data centres and integrate into our Next IP network, ensuring simplicity, performance and security for our customers. As the platform advances we will be able to rapidly deploy a range of cloud services, Cisco applications and key global locations to provide greater value to our customers and partners.

You would have seen that we’ve been extremely busy this year driving momentum on our own cloud journey. Partnering with Microsoft, VMware as well as opening the doors to Clayton and the commitment to building Government Cloud have kept us all motivated and hungry to only propel our cloud offerings even further in 2015.

We’re certainly already excited about the next few months and we look forward to sharing more developments as the new year progresses.
