Typhoon Hagupit moves towards Manila; at least 24 killed
Typhoon Hagupit is weakening and moving towards the Philippines' capital Manila, as rescue and relief operations begin in storm-hit areas.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated, at least three people were killed in Tacloban and at least 21 were killed in Eastern Samar, after the storm hit the country's south-east on the weekend.
The typhoon, with winds reaching 120-150 kilometres per hour, was expected to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to Manila about 6:00pm to 8:00pm local time.
Residents of Tacloban are still recovering from Super Typhoon Haiyan which hit the city 13 months ago.
