《我爱你，中国》这首歌是电影《海外赤子》的主题歌曲。1980年改革开放的春风吹起不久，归国华人日渐增多。在这样的时代背景下，我国拍摄了一部反映爱国华侨心系祖国的电影《海外赤子》。



这首歌的歌词采用我国传统词律“赋比兴”的写作手法，一咏三叹，字句凝练。运用叠句、排比等手法，对祖国的春苗秋果、森林山川、田园庄稼等作了形象的描绘和细腻的刻画，表达了海外游子对祖国的满腔炽热和真挚的爱国主义情感。歌曲由三部分构成。

第一部分是引子性质的乐段，节奏较自由，气息宽广，音调明亮、高亢，旋律起伏跌宕，把人们引入百灵鸟凌空俯瞰大地而引吭高歌的艺术境界。

第二部分是歌曲的主体部分，节奏较平缓，旋律逐层上升，委婉、深沉而又内在，铺展了一幅祖国大好河山的壮丽画卷，使“我爱你，中国”的主题思想不断深化。

第三部分是结尾乐段，经过两个衬词“啊”的抒发，引向歌曲的最高潮。末尾句“我的母亲，我的祖国”在高音区结束，倾泻出海外儿女对祖国满腔炽烈的爱国主义情感。曲调起伏迂回，节奏自由悠长、与第一部分相呼应。
