您理解错我的意思了， 有很多中国来的做 Strategist, 这个知识一个entry lvl的职位，  我说的是 管理层面的策略，不是光是智囊。

I work business banking but im in middle office.
I can definitely tell ya corporate banking needs someone with good english but doesnt have to be native, however, u gotta be funny and like aussie culture and love footy.  It's very white in corporate banking but it's alot easier than business banking as customers are more sophisticated and they dun whinge about fees and stuff.
But thats said, i'm sure you'll feel very lonely in there unless ur a really outgoing person and/or can talk aussie... middle/back office would be the best options..try credit risk analyst, credit underwriter, credit analyst and the like...but middle/back office jobs in corporate/institutional segment is tough to get in.

another area is to handle distressed portfolios some big2 call it strategic business services but hard to move up....

in business banking front office u move up quick and can still earn big bucks... but stressful ..it's not much difference to working in asia im sure. but work hard for 4 yrs u could be on at least AUD100k base assuming you start off from grad level... so given ur exp... u might be offered 76k-8xk packaged as an associate...

recently ive noticed some asian banks are tryna get into aussie market... they even looked for business/corp banker or credit analyst to join them to open up this market...maybe u can keep an eye on this. I know at least one taiwanese bank is very aggressive...

Yea. these are easy stuff...works are alot cruisy than bus/corp banking or credits.

I've been wanting to switch back to accounting... a lot easier...

Yes frontline sounds shxt when ppl first hear it.

But let me tell ya frontline ppl in bus/corp banking earn BIG BIG bucks....u could be on 100k based with only 4 years exp from grad to 4 yrs on. let alone the bonus.

I've met some ppl from china, within 4 yrs from graduation, who could make it to a bus banking manager who has got the DCA or DLA to approve AUD $5-$10M lending increase per single submission( could be over $50M or more per one customer group)...banker in this segment can earn 100k base plus bonus (typically at least 10k-50k) depends.

but i admit it ...it's a really shxt job compared to accounting; my mates work as accountants for services companies are loving life, not really stressful and get paid well. They dun even really need to really know much about accounting..wut a joke... i reckon credit underwriters/analyst or business/corporate bankers know more about accounting than accountants sometimes.  Why is this so? not so fair aint it..

I had mate who switched from big4 to Citibank and he's enjoying it... ppl goto work late and leave early so long as u done ur job or u make bare minimum.

targets are so much easier to meet as well; it's almost like half of what he had to do at previous big4.

I wouldnt mind trying Citibank...but not now ...wanna go back to accounting so bad after experiencing traumatising business banking exp.. lol

我个人认为 ， 你说的这些 只是针对一些 澳洲本土银行，

如果 你有过 欧美银行 or 投行 工作经验， 就先不说 澳洲的亚洲背景银行。

who will give a fk about if you love footy or not.. lol, no one talks footy around, sounds 太土了。

在口语好的基础上 ，你的幽默 在哪里都是适用的， 特别是美系 和 澳系的银行

如果要想进 corporate, 你长的 和 穿的 也要像 corporate的人

不过，这个还是要看你的hiring leader 喜欢不喜欢你， 没有什么特别的rules

还有 这里的银行的几个基本档次 和 他们公司文化 也有区别

亚洲银行， 澳洲本土， 欧美 和 投行  相同的职位， 工作内容，强度， pay， benefits, leader 什么 什么都不一样， 而且 员工也不是一个样的 （ 连长的 ， 穿的，都区别很大，嘿嘿）

借楼主贴同问一下，我也是国内银行经验，以前主要做commercial banking，在这里找工很迷茫，银行里招的主要就是CSR，其他工作如何入门呢？请知道的各位前辈指教，谢谢！

个人感觉, 这里的银行工作待遇不好.
能够拿到高工资的亚裔并不多. 而且必须要会流利英语, 国语和广东话.
而且工作也不轻松.
如果已经在国内的收入达到30万以上, 就不要过来了.
因为这里是零的开始. 人家不可能马上给你相应的职位的.
再加上这里的银行不像国内是事业单位有保障, 裁员是很正常的

You've pointed out some common sense.

But we are still in aust so footy is how to connect, it's not a must but it seriously gives u the edge. I don't like footy myself i reckon it's boring as fk and i've managed to mingle with my workmates well without talkin footy with em but I know it's definitely gon bring me to the next level if i like it.

And of course u've gota dress to impress wherever you go so there's no argument here..especially corporate/invest/institute banking...it's cut throat world u gota be very out there, outgoing and express urself n make urself seen and that's why u gota love footy...... but again depends if majority of ur workmates are asians then they won't feel your the odd one out as much as your asian.But at that level, there arent much asians.. good if u dun like working with asians..very white...

Anyways, enough talkin , LZ dun come here mate..u'll regret for sure.... ur that high up back home..why would u come here and start over ?  I wouldnt ..

很同意哦 ，混得好的话，哪里都一样的，但是如果国内已经不错了真的没必要来澳洲开荒。
