旅游签证676的期限问题

父母1年多前来过一次，申请的是3个月的签证，给了1年有效期的多次往返，每次最多3个月的居住期限。
现在想给他们申请也是3个月的多次往返，但是希望能够住的久一点，看到有些朋友是3个月居住期限到的时候去新西兰玩一下，马上又进来的。我的问题是：理论上，1年多次往返的签证，连续出关4次的话，最后一次赶在签证的有效期那天或前一天进来，就又能待3个月了吧。这样靠着这张签证累计可以住够接近1年零3个月了，是这样的吗？还是在签证有效期那天或之前人必须离开澳洲呢？
我现在希望父母先过来3个月，然后回国大约6个月，然后再进来约2-3个月，赶在签证的有效期之前几天赶紧去新西兰一天，马上再过来，然后住满3个月回国。是否可行？
看到网上的各种信息，有点不能确定了，请有类似经验的朋友解释一下。谢谢啦。

Visa validity

You may be granted a Tourist visa for:

a stay of up to 12 months, or a shorter period, depending on the purpose of the visit and your personal circumstances
a single entry or multiple entries to Australia.
You must leave Australia on or before the date that your visa expires.
Example: If you are granted a three month stay Tourist visa and arrive in Australia on 1 January 2007, you must leave on or before 1 April 2007.
是签证有效期之内离境，不是入境。

现在就是有点搞不清这个visa expiry date如何计算的，这个例子中visa的有效期为3个月，不是那种1年内多次往返、每次最多3个月的visa。这种允许1年内入境的visa上面没有提到必须在1年到期之前离境，只是说不能在1年到期日后入境。所以我的理解是可以赶在最后一天进来，继续住3个月。

签证是入境后3个月，这点肯定没问题的
但如果你在签证过期前去新西兰一天，回来的时候会不会被海关盘问就不知道了
海关确实有权利当场把签证给你取消，看运气吧
我觉得还是不要挺而走险

Visa validity
This visa generally allows stays of 3 or 6 months in Australia, although a stay of up to 12 months can be granted. A stay beyond 12 months is ONLY granted where ‘exceptional’ circumstances exist.
It may be granted for a single entry or multiple entries within a specified period. Generally, this visa allows people to enter Australia within 12 months from the date of grant.
申请表上写的很清楚，1年境内时间出入境，不过你可以去问下移民局，这样保险点，不过一般旅游探亲签，签证有效期最长1年。
