iPhone 4 is thinner than iPhone 3GS while using retina display. So where is the logic that new iPad is thicker than iPad 2 due to feature retina display?
To explain you about the weight of wifi only version, apple use same battery to both wifi and LTE version, so not much profile and weight change you will notice for those two version. Simply because battery is the killer for weight and size. And the bigger battery mainly is to support the LTE.
hmm..your second paragraph lacks logic...If the near doubling of the battery size is to mainly support LTE, why is the wifi version only quoted at one hour more than the LTE one and the same as ipad2? Think about it, if the new display doesn't suck much more power than the ipad2 one, then why wouldn't Apple quote the wifi version at, say 15 hours? Surely it will be an awesome marketing figure and blow all competitions away!
Anyway, if you still have doubt, you can always wait for Anandtech's report, which should be out in about 2 weeks. |
