一教育学家要求取消NAPLAN考试和My School网站

一位澳洲有名的教育学家最近要求政府取消NAPLAN考试和My School网站。

这位教授叫Brian Caldwell，是前任墨尔本大学的教育院长。他在昨天政府听证会上告诉参议院说，NAPLAN考试，课程和及其网站应该被取消。

他说：“本质上我提议取消NAPLAN考试、My School网站和其衡量标准。”

这位教授说，当他在网上发现英国的标准化考试（类似澳洲的NAPLAN考试）的网站上有一个广告链接，这个链接是一个澳洲的补习学校公司。而英国的网站上他还发现有一个广告链接是一个帮助缓解焦虑的公司，看到这一切，他非常的担心。

他说，英国政府已经做了现在澳洲政府正在做的教育改革，但结果很糟糕。

一份基于部分学生为样本的调查就足够给政府了解全国性的学生表现信息，完全没有必要像现在一样为此目的对全国所有的学生进行考试。

但是他说，NAPLAN考试议案里最关键的问题是5月份考试和12月成绩公布之间的间隙，这就意味着老师们无法及时的根据考试结果采取有针对性的举措。

联邦政府教育部的发言人Peter Garrett说，政府仍然会继续支持NAPLAN考试和My School网站。

这位发言人说：“考试和网站给家长、老师和社区以前所未有的的关于孩子教育和其所在学校的丰富信息。”

根据计划，My School网站将在年底更新内容，并增加学校的财政信息和学生在NAPLAN考试进程中的进步度。

Naplan and My school are good for parents to understand their target schools well, I hope they both would be kept. However, I do think we should cancel coaching schools. They only teach students how to deal with test not the real knowledge and good study method, best thinking way that they need to improve. We should enjoy natural study, 'free range kids' are better than 'cage kids'.
I believe most of us in oursteps are educated very well. however, when you are working or doing your own business, how much percentage of knowledge you learned in schools and uni can be used. Schools and unis only taught us the basic skills, especially how to learn and how to search the knowledge when you need them. As at the present, there are too much information and knowledge we need, but we couldn't remember everything what we need.
OC and selective schools are good for gifted kids to study extra if they are able to and like. But please look at OC and some of selective schools now, it is becoming tools to separate different nations. I really worry about this situation even my kid is too young to be worried. I heard the story from my boss, one of her daughter's friend got 99.95 in HSC and went to America to study Law, she graduated from private school but very normal family not rich. I said, if she tried she would study in selective school without fee, my boss said, it is hard for her to find friends there. I said why not try schoolship in her school, he said the girls thought there are some students more need schoolship than them. I was only silent and nothing to say any more.

我是觉得．这个网站给未上学的孩子父母造成焦虑．以前找学校听口碑，现在之间看数据，而忽视小学教育其他重要方面．

NAPLAN is just one narrow angle view into a school all right, but words of mouth is by no means more reliable.

主流社会好象多数人反对这个网站。

现在取消估计也晚了。反正对那些好学校，大多数以后的排名也不会大起大落。

从新闻报道里看，
大部分的教育界人士肯定是反对My School的，因为网站被认为是在变相制造League Table，但是主流媒体都不反对，房地产中介们也不反对（呵呵）。
而大部分公立系统的家长们是乐意看到这样的数据的，至于私校家长们我个人认为他们无所谓，因为私立学校排名的高低和他们要送孩子去私校的意图无关。
