Beibei's mum, please do not use anything other than the medication the vet prescribed. First of all, you don't know the correct dosage. Skin is the biggest organ. Using anything on Beibei's skin is equal to giving it to his organ. Think about that before you use anything on him. Secondly, if the vet has alreayd given him antibiotic, you shouldn't use anything else to trigger antibiotic resistance. If resistance happens, lots of medication won't work in the future.
If this is only caused by bacteria, don't worry too much. Antibiotic can fix the problem. But you will need to give it time. Like when you get infection, the doctor will suggest you to take a full course of antibiotic for it to work. There's no miracle medicine. Medication will work over the time. You can't expect the result overnight. If you are not sure about how the injection or shampoo work, please ask your vet. He or she will be happy to explain it to you in a simple way.
Personally, I would suggest that if your think your pet is sick, take them to the vet. Do not come here to ask. None of us is an animal healthcare professional. We can share our experience, but it may not be correct. And no one can take responsibility for their on-line suggestion. So, listen to your vet. If you don't have faith on them, change to another one. They may not be the best doctor in the world, but they did spend years in uni study veterinary science, we never did. |
