看了几篇文章介绍,讲得都很笼统，没看出和solution designer或一般的consultant有什么明显区别。
就其职责，主要好像就是根据客户需求和ERP/CRM的现有功能，设计系统方案。包括理解和归档AS-IS系统，设计TO-BE系统，然后GAP分析，找到最佳妥协的方案等。
有没有做过或正在做的TZ,分享一下具体这种职位日常工作是什么样的？需要参与底层的开发么？
还有，这种职位在实际工作中，一般都有什么样的核心要求？

A Functional Consultant is a person who is involved in the planning, designing and oversight of a software systems “construction”. They must thoroughly understand the requirements to which their design must conform. A degree of knowledge is necessary so that the consultant will not omit any necessary requirements, or produce improper, conflicting, ambiguous, or confusing solutions. Functional Consultants must understand the various methods/solutions available to build the system for the client's required structure, so that the consultant can negotiate with the client to produce the best possible compromise of the results desired within explicit cost and time boundaries.
The idea of what constitutes a “result desired” varies among consultants, as the values and attitudes which underlie implementations differ between the schools of thought which influence an implementations approach.
A Functional Consultant could be viewed in a broader sense, as noted above; to define as, “Someone who brings order to a built or non-built situation”.
In practice, a Functional Consultant accepts a commission from a client (a board of directors, a government agency or a corporation). This commission may involve the preparation of feasibility reports, build audits, the design of a single solution, or the design of several solutions, with varying structures and the process associated with them. Increasingly, the Functional Consultant participates in the development of requirements the client wishes to have met in the solution. Throughout the project, from planning to use, the Functional Consultant can assist the project manager in acting as the coordinator of a team of specialists; business, technical as well as other specialists, who may have been retained by the client. The Functional Consultant must ensure that the work of all these different areas is coordinated and fits together in the overall design of the system.
Depending on the client's needs and the jurisdiction's requirements, the spectrum of the Functional Consultant’s services may be extensive (detailed document preparation and construction review) or less inclusive (such as providing a list of possible solutions to a GAP or incident). The design of the total built environment: from the macro level of systems integration, to the micro level of construction detail, such as fields, their description and functionality.
Design involves the manipulation of business requirements in order to achieve an end which is user friendly, easily maintainable as well as functional. This distinguishes Functional Consultants from the applied Technical Consultants who usually concentrate on the structural and technical feasibility aspects of design.
In every usage, functionality may be seen as a subjective mapping from a human perspective (that of the user) to the elements or components of some kind of system, which preserves the relationships among the elements or components (business requirement, legacy or target systems.
The work of a Functional Consultant is an interdisciplinary field, drawing upon knowledge of a specific field; for example banking, insurance, trading etc… technology, project methodology, social/communication skills written or verbal.
A good system build should satisfy at least the two principles of; firmitatis and utilitatis, which translates roughly as -
§ Durability - it should stand up robustly and remain in good condition or future proof!!
§ Utility - it should be useful; and function well for the people using it. |
