姐妹们，Jessie Mac和Waverley Private的选择

不知道有没有有经验的mm，给点意见。我的OB只在这两个医院生。

我们家在Monash，所以，找的OB也是附近的，他收费是$3500 (可以claim), $1500 (out of pocket).  

姐妹们...有人在这两个医院生过吗？有啥经验分享给偶...多谢了！！

我家老二在Jessie Mac生的，不推荐。感觉设备还不如Box hill hospital（生老大的地方），生的时候没有电子测宫缩的，一个midwife一直用手搭在我肚子上，我宫缩来的时候疼得要死，她手放在上面我很不舒服，我实在受不了了，让她拿开手，她还老大不高兴。我在box hill生的时候，一直有电子测宫缩的绑在肚子上，可以清楚看到宫缩强度和间隔。

当然每个妈妈的经历不一样，以前去的一个playgroup的妈妈两个孩子都是在Jessie Mac生的，她觉得挺好的。

I will suggest Jessie Mac as it next to Monash medical centre and safer in case there is an emergency (for mother or baby).

Waverley Private is a smaller private hospital, having ~1000 birth per year.  Its back up facility is limited. It could not deal with emergency (e.g. heavy bleeding, flat baby etc), as quickly as the larger hospital.

In obstetrics - 90+% of the cases are uncomplicated. However, situation can change quickly and obstetric emergency can occur without warning.  So I think it is safer for both mother and baby to deliver in a hospital with good backup facility (on site emergency theater staff, anaesthetist, paediatrician).  Jessie Mac and Frances Perry House can use Monash Medical Center or Royal Women's Hospital facility as back up (e.g 24 hour theater, anaesthetist and paediatrician).

啊，那里设备怎么这么落后？

All the hospital has CTG (baby and contraction monitor), but not use on every women in labour - not everyone need CTG during labour according to the guideline.

CTG is used if  
  small baby
  during epidural
  during syntocinon infusion (the hormone drop to induce/increase contraction)
  bleeding
  water not clear (meconium or heavy blood stained)
  foetal heart abnormal need be monitored
  your doctor asked for

In other cases, the midwives will use their hands to check for the contractions and listen the baby's heart beat. This is widely used in uncomplicated delivery and needs more midwife care (one to one). Midwives believe this is better than the mechine.

设备真很落后
我在cabrini生的，挺满意

当时次选就是JM, 后来cabrini的waiting list 排上了

我对cabrini也很满意，就是离家比较远。
