用medibank或HBA的私人医疗保险的筒子们请进

最近在考虑买个私人医疗保险，我们夫妻二人，暂时没有要小孩的计划，但牙科服务对我们比较重要。看了下，觉得medibank的MyOptions和HBA的young couples choice比较合适，本来是想选medibank，但看到有些朋友说HBA的extras看牙比较划算，能够claim回来更多，我们又犹豫了。所以请论坛里在这两家买了保险的筒子们进来说说自己用的体会，最好能用具体例子说说，比如在他们的members' choice（HBA叫Members first）诊所看牙或者看病，分别能claim回来多少钱。还有就是对他们claim的方便程度，会员医院的覆盖程度等等也说说自己的感受。

I just checked for you - HBA young couple choice does not cover obstetrics and IVF either

You should play attention to the excluded services.
Many young couples did not realise that their health cover excludes pregnancy until they become pregnant.

谢谢这位朋友。我们短期内没有要孩子的计划，但看牙对我们比较重要，这也是我们选那两种package的原因。

Everyone knows the risk of unplanned pregnancy for a young couple.  It will be too late to upgrade policy when find out she is pregnant.

My advice is to choose a policy that cover obstetrics (pregnancy).  With MBP my option, you do not have many options.

MBP my option and HBA young couple choice etc were designed only for high income people to ovoid Medicare levy surcharge.  It offer limited private hospital cover.

For example, Medibank private My option covers private hospital admission only for accidental injuries, knee and shoulder reconstruction, appendicectomy, tonsils and adenoids, wisdom teeth.  

For all other surgeries e.g hernia repair, laparoscopy (e.g ovarian cyst, endometriosis), hysteroscopy, curettage for miscarriage, termination of pregnancy, gastroscopy etc, MBP my option only cover you in a public hospital as a private patient (under restrict services). obstetrics-related services, IVF, angiograms or open heart and bypass surgery, hip and knee replacement, major eye surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery are excluded.  

Please note you have much less option and may have longer waiting period as a private patient in a public hospital.

If you mainly want to cover dental works, I suggest you to take up HBA my choice extra.  You can choose General Dental, Major Dental, Orthodontics + another choice (Optical, or physio, or Natural Therapies (Chinese medicine), or Pharmacy). These give you better dental cover than general extra cover.  Please see the link below

I had medibank for 3 years then transfered to hbs for 3 years so far. I'm quite happy with hba with more benifit and bonus. i use a lot for dental and physio and claimed once for hospital. Really happy with them and easy claim :)
