My son has similar problems, his lower jaw is under developed, and it caused by his breathing issue. He has allergies. He was referred to see an ENT, and the doctor found out he has over grew adenoid and very big turbinates due to the allergy.
He had very heavy breath, and his nose was always blocked. And the problems resulted poor sleep and poor breathing, which caused his lower jaw to be under developed.
He had adenoid removal and turbinate reductions surgery 2 weeks ago. He's breathing improved dramatically!!!
We have been taken him to see different GPs, none of the GP pointed out the breathing issue. It was the dentist, he was concerning about my son's lower jaw and then found out his breath was very heavy when he did the teeth clean. Then the dentist referred him to see the ENT.
Now my son's breathing has fixed (hopefully, the allergies are still there), he will still need the plate to correct his lower jaw, the demage is already done there unfortunately. |
