Job title: Japanese Cuisine Chef
Work type: Permanent Full-Time
Location: Hobart region, TAS
Duties:
• Prepare traditional Japanese cuisine
• Display a confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on consistency and presentation
• Work within a team and individually to meet customer demands
• Monitor and mentor Apprentices to ensure all items are prepared in line with the menu and delivered in a timely manner
• Ensure food quality, presentation and safety standards are maintained
• Abide by health and hygiene standards in all food storage and preparation areas
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Strong knowledge of, and experience in traditional Japanese cuisine
• Demonstrated ability to perform relevant cooking techniques in Japanese cuisine including sushi, sashimi and yakitori


Job title: Kitchen hands and Wait staff
Work type: full-time, part-time or casual
Duties for Kitchen hands:
• Assist Head chef as required including preparing and cooking ingredients and menu items
• Ensure proper storage of goods
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene in the kitchen and food service areas
• Undertake all kitchen duties, including cleaning of equipment, preparing service areas and cleaning of all areas
• Adhere to food safety and WHS guidelines
Duties for Wait Staff:
• Provide customers with menus and explain our dishes.
• Direct customers to their seats, ensuring their needs are attended to.
• Answer any immediate questions the customers may have.
• Setting up tables.
• Clearing tables after meals.
• Assist in coordinating dining reservations.
• Inspect and maintain dining space according to WHS guidelines and food safety standards
• Make recommendations or share additional information upon customer’s request.
• Handle complaints and ensure the customer leaves satisfied and impressed.
• Be happy to work weekends and holidays.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Prior work experience in a similar role is an advantage
• High standard of personal hygiene
• Good work ethic
