Has anyone tried applying consulting firms?

Really want to apply but know it is highly demanding and extremely hard to get in.

if anyone got exp on that, would you shed a light on it? So I may know if I need to put efforts on other job huntings..

I only know engineering consulting firms

it is really hard to enter into those management consulting firm bec they do not have big office in AUS.

Each year they only hire 1-2 ppl. Some year they even do not hire any one.

One of my friends, who's average mark is reach 80, honor degree, tutor of two uni in sydney, has been called for an interveiw for backoffice support at Bain. During the interveiw, they told my friend that since australian was not a big market, if they met consultor shortage, they would prefer inviting some consultor from other country (e.g, american, UK)  than recruiting new staff. Moreover, although sometimes they need new staff for backoffice support, but they told every applicants that they did not have any opportunity to transfer to consulting department.

Compare to chine, at least they will select 5-10 ppl graduate each year.
