防护面罩是没有的，护目镜一般是自己的眼镜或Bunnings卖的那种safety glasses，口罩是一次性的口罩，经常会有从病人嘴里溅出来的水溅到脸上和前额的。

就是觉得这个原因觉得无法接受这个工作。每天被患者无法避免的喷口水。想想都难受

有男的的。。。另外DA薪水在布村真心没有那么高，好多25以下的。不过平均和DT差不多了。想想DT要学多少东西，，DA还是算简单的。

还有自动调整吸水的？还真没见过。da不会消亡，牙医需要助手做各种工作。

Working as a Dental Assistant in Private dental clinics, if you are lucky to work with lovely dentists with better payment and overtime penalty rate.

I know there are many private dentists are paying no good enough.  If they don't have patients in the afternoon, they will let you go home and pay for the working hours only. It will not so easy to use sick leave.

If you are working in the Government dental clinics, you will definitely have morning tea, lunch break, overtime penalty rate. It will be easy to use your sick /carer's leave if you are unwell.

Also as a Dental Assistant/nurse, you will have an opportunity to work in the Hospital. (Health Department), with the salary package. The salary will be increased annually.

It is a busy job if you are happy to chat with patients, fast learner, you will enjoy it.

If you want to have a next step in the field of dentistry, can go to University to study 3 years course as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist.

Working as a dentist in Australia. They need to have a bachelor degree first, then study 4 years full-time postgraduate as a dentist. The selection is really competitive.

The course has lots of pressure, dealing with difficult patients, infectious disease. The patients may not tell you their medical history honestly. eg. HIV, Hepatitis B,C..... Most older dentists have neck, waist problems. They get higher payments, they need to attend many hours of training every year to keep their registration.  It is not a easy job to be a dentist.

DA needs to be super careful to scrub sharp instruments, following the instructions to remove the needles and put them in the sharps container.

Also as a DA, need to pay attention to details, to make sure all the chartings and information put in the computer are accurate. For Adult, the chartings for permanent dentition is OK. But child, the mix dentition with baby teeth and adult teeth, need to be careful as it is so easy to make mistake.

If dentists are running late, they will pressure to DA as well. You need to be quick, efficient, think ahead before they ask. Then you will be a perfect worker

It is very lucky for dentists to have a good Dental Assistant. You will be proud of what you are doing and bring lots to your team.

If you are not happy or treated badly by the dentists, there are so many dental clinics on the market for you to choose.

For a few years, if you are confident for your English, the reception position is good and get a better payment.
