off the top of my head - from quick recollection, or as an approximation; without research or calculation; 好象是。。。差不多是。。。

通常是要提供具体数据和情况的时候，但是可能不太确定自己记得的是不是正确。这时候可以用off the top of my head来开头这样大家都知道这个数据可能不是很精确。
比如说：
Manager to Sysadmin: How much disk space do we have left on the file server?
Sysadmin: Off the top of my head, we have about 200GB spare.

和off the top of my head差不多意思的还有：last time I checked.上次我看的时候是。。。言下之意就是：不太确定现在怎么样了，可能已经有变化了。

Right off the top of my head, I'd say that LDAP firstly requires authenticatoin, then the traffic is encrypted using Kerberos. If that's still not enough, you can add SSL encapsulation. That's why it's considered secure in most cases.
