If your husband is a decent cook, then there's no need to hire 月嫂. Just hire a cleaner to do household cleaning. And use disposable plates/cups/utensils if you don't want to deal with dirty dishes. It's not very cheap or environmentally friendly, but it's only a short period of time. Do whatever makes your life easier.
I didn't have go through 月子 at all. My husband took 3 weeks of leave and my in-laws helped with cooking a little bit, mostly soups. I was looking after the baby (breast-feeding), cooking meals for my husband, doing laundry, a little of cleaning (no heavy lifting). After my husband went back to work, I took the baby to check-ups (4 weeks, 8 weeks, so on) at the local maternal & child health centre.
Best advice I received and adopted: sleep when the baby sleeps.
You'll be fine. |
