David Stratton presents Alfred Hitchcock's Suspicion starring Joan Fontaine and Cary Grant.

Lina McLaidlaw (Fontaine) is a prim, proper Englishwoman, and Johnnie Aysgarth (Grant) is a suave, charming playboy. They're as surprised as everyone else when they fall madly in love, and since Lina's parents would never approve of her romance with a cad like Aysgarth, they elope.

As Lina sets up home after a whirlwind honeymoon on the Continent, she begins to see another side of Johnnie; his charm and easy good humour hide the fact that he's not only broke, but a very accomplished liar.

Lina presses Johnnie to find a job, and when he comes home one day showering her with expensive gifts, she believes his story about a job he has managing his cousin's estates. But, dropping in at his office one day, Lina is shocked to find that Johnnie was sacked weeks ago.

One of Johnnnie's old school mates, 'Beaky' Thwaite (Nigel Bruce) drops in for a long visit, and he and Johnnie concoct a plan to develop a seaside resort. But Johnnie changes his mind at the last minute, and they break up the partnership.

Lina's suspicions about Johnnie get the better of her, and she imagines Beaky meeting an untimely death on the dangerous road along the coast. When the police call the next day to tell her that Beaky has indeed died mysteriously, she is very afraid.

When Johnnie returns, Lina tries to make her escape by telling him she must visit her mother. Johnnie is annoyed, but insists on driving her down the same dangerous coastal road. He drives faster and faster, skirting the edge of the cliff and veering at the last second down a 'shortcut', and Lina is terrified.

As he swerves around a curve, Lina's door falls open and she nearly tumbles out over the edge of the cliff. Screaming, she clings to the car. As Johnnie's hand reaches over, Lina, terrified, tries to avoid being pushed out. But at the last instant, he pulls her back into the car...

David Stratton presents Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo starring James Stewart and Kim Novak.

Scottie Ferguson (Stewart), a lawyer turned detective, resigns from the San Francisco police department after discovering he has 'acrophobia' - a fear of heights. Shortly after, he is asked by an old college buddy Gavin Elster (Tom Helmore) to shadow his wife Madeleine (Novak), whom he describes as a suicidal neurotic. Madeleine believes she is possessed by the spirit of her great-grandmother Carlotta Valdes, who committed suicide after her child was taken away by her ruthless husband.

For hours Scottie tails Madeleine on her mysterious journeys around the city, including a visit to Carlotta's grave. He then sees her entering a hotel, but the manager insists she's not inside. But, her room is empty, and her car has vanished. Later when Madeleine tries to drown herself in the bay, Scottie rescues her and takes her home. When she wakes up, she remembers nothing, but he has fallen in love...

The next day Scottie drives Madeleine to the Monterey coast, but once again she tries to run into the sea, telling him that someone within her is telling her that she has to die.

Then one night she comes to his apartment, and as she describes her dream, Scottie decides to take her there. They arrive at a church mission, but he can't follow her up the church tower because of his vertigo. Moments later, a body hits the ground...

Recovering from a nervous breakdown, Scottie sees a shop girl who looks exactly like Madeleine, and the broken hearted detective decides to groom her to be Madeleine... from where a terrifying tale unfolds!

David Stratton presents Alfred Hitchcock's Frenzy.

There is a serial killer working the streets in London raping and strangling women with a neck tie. The latest victim is discovered floating in the Thames.

Richard Blaney (Jon Finch), a disillusioned former Royal Air Force officer working as a bartender, has just been fired for drinking on the job and is seeking career-direction with his barmaid girlfriend Babs Milligan (Anna Massey).

As Blaney hits the streets in search of another job he wanders to Covent Garden market to chat with his friend Bob Rusk (Barry Foster), a local fruit dealer.

The police are clueless as to the culprit in the ongoing crime and are working on a solution, casually speaking with Rusk, whose sarcasm offsets the serious tone of the authorities.

After having too many glasses of brandy, Blaney goes to see his ex-wife Brenda Blaney (Barbara Leigh-Hunt) who runs a matrimonial agency. Brenda takes Blaney to dinner and surreptitiously puts money in his pocket which he discovers as he spends the night with the local Salvation Army.

When Brenda is raped and strangled by the necktie murderer, the police suspect Blaney, and a manhunt led by Chief Inspector Oxford (Alec McGowan) is initiated. The Inspector seems to be experiencing his own form of gastronomical torture with a wife experimenting in gourmet cooking by using her husband as a test subject.

As the net tightens and the police eventually capture Blaney, suspicions arise in Oxford's mind about whether he really is the killer.
