Are you looking at this area?
There could be a few structures causing the pain:
During pregnancy, hormorn called "relaxin" is produced more. This hormorn relaxes ligaments arould the pelvis area so baby can come out more easily during delivery. However it can also affect lower back ligaments because they are so close.
If the ligaments are looser, the joints are less stable, people may feel pain as a result.
If people have pre-existing back problem, they might feel it more during pregancy, partly because of this, partly because of the change in posture and extra weight we carry. Back pain can often run down to the buttock and make you think it is a problem of the buttock.
