strong SAP Netweaver background, exceptional technical skills, well-developed or the ability to quickly attain an understanding of the department's business and experience in SAP System administration and development.  It is highly desirable that the candidates will possess at least 10 years of extensive experience in SAP including 3 years knowledge of SAP Netweaver Applications
As a highly experienced SAP specialist, you will be required to take a leading role in the development, configuration and ongoing maintenance of the department's SAP ERP6/Netweaver 7.0 (Portal, BI, XI, Solution Manager) environment. This includes:
•Strategic direction setting for the department's SAP environment including capacity planning, disaster recovery and integration to the SFP program;
•Ensure SLA's for system availability are met and the procedure are in place to  met ANAO requirements;
•Ensure design and implementation of the department's SAP interfaces are to departments' standard;
•Ensure developments using ABAP, Webdynpro and PI(XI) as required by functional  and business areas meet departmental standards;
•Ensure developments and enhancements of  the department's BI and Portal systems as requested by business areas meet departmental standards;
•Technical support for functional areas including, but not limited to Financial  Accounting, Controlling, Purchasing, Payroll, Superannuation, Personnel Development and Personnel Administration;
&#8226rovide general support and advice as required for other SAP team members (FI,  HR etc);
&#8226rovide general support as required for other technical team members (testing,  peer reviews etc);
&#8226rovide technical/development advice for BAU changes and small projects;
&#8226rovide training and skills transfer to staff; and
&#8226repare technical documentation, project plans and status reports for assigned  projects.

SAP NetWeaver is SAP's integrated technology platform and is the technical foundation for all SAP applications since the SAP Business Suite. SAP NetWeaver is marketed as a service-oriented application and integration platform. SAP NetWeaver provides the development and runtime environment for SAP applications and can be used for custom development and integration with other applications and systems. SAP NetWeaver is built using open standards and industry de facto standards and can be extended with, and interoperate with, technologies such as Microsoft .NET, Sun Java EE, and IBM WebSphere.

SAP NetWeaver's release is considered as a strategic move by SAP for driving enterprises to run their business on a single, integrated platform that includes both applications and technology. Industry analysts refer to this type of integrated platform offering as an "applistructure" (applications + infrastructure). It is widely held that this approach is driven by industry's need to lower IT costs through an enterprise architecture that is at once (1) more flexible; (2) better integrated with applications; (3) built on open standards to ensure future interoperability and broad integration; and, (4) provided by a vendor that is financially viable for the long term.[citation needed].

SAP is fostering relationships with system integrators and independent software vendors, many of the latter becoming "Powered by SAP NetWeaver".

SAP NetWeaver is part of SAP's plan to transition to a more open, service-oriented architecture and to deliver the technical foundation of its applications on a single, integrated platform and common release cycle.

Composition
NetWeaver is essentially the integrated stack of SAP technology products. The SAP Web Application Server (sometimes referred to as WebAS) is the runtime environment for the SAP applications -- all of the mySAP Business Suite solutions (SRM, CRM, SCM, PLM, ERP) run on SAP WebAS.

Is it easy by teaching myself?

SAP软件本身和其他的软件没有实质的区别，并没有多难。搞SAP不是单纯的计算机，更重要的是对象CRM，Logistics等等的业务的理解，这是经验的积累，不是速成能学来的。
