A little boy James , whose father and mother died when he was eight, had to live with his two bad aunts. One day in his eleven, when he was chopping wood for his aunts , he saw a ridiculous fox. The fox gave him a bag of little crystals and told him, if he used them as the fox said , they'll bring James luck. But James spilled the Crystals under the Peach tree that never grew peaches. and the little crystal melted into the earth, the next morning, the two aunts saw a giant peach, the size of a little house was growing out of the peach tree. one aunt wanted to eat it, and the other aunt telephoned the newspapers and tourists came to see the giant peach. Then the aunt charged a dollar each, and when the night came, the tourists had all gone. The two aunts sent James to pick up the garbage and can not eat dinner if he didn't clear all the garbage. James was picking when he saw a giant hole inside the peach. and he climbed in the peach, he licked the walls , they were so sweet, and when he bumbed his head on a hard thing , he realized it was the shell and he saw it's the door. and he saw a giant centipede and a giant grasshopper, lady bug and spider and a silk worm, a dragonfly . They became friends. Next morning , the peach rolled down into the sea and floated. but not long, some sharks attacked. Jamed used many ropes to tie seaguls to the peach, the peach flied gracefully. When they travelled to the New York, everyone thought it was a big bomb. when they landed , they saw the giant bugs and thought they were monsters. but James told the people the whole story and they were honored, Little kids ate up the giant peach, and James lived happily forever. - What's your favorite part of the book? Why? It's the part that the centipede yelled at the cloud men they met , the cloud men poured the centipede with the purple rainbow paint , and the centipede went stuck and could not move. Really homorous. - What character do you like most/least? Why? I like James best, because he is a good boy and smart, alway thinks some good ideas. - What connections can you make? Text to text, text to life or text to world? Text to life. - Does the book teach you anything? Have you learned anything? It teaches me that you have to risk a not so good idea when there is no other idea. and you would be good if you want to be lucky. If you are not good, no one would help you . - How is the author's writing style? humorous and delightful . - Do you like the book? Charlie really likes in chocolate, but their family is really poor and has seven people . (they are Charlie Bucket , Mr. Bucket , mrs Bucket . and two grandpas and two grandmas). when winter comes, they barely have a piece of bread each for dinner. then Mr. Willy Wonka. , sent five golden tickets in the shops and the founders can go in Mr. Willy Wonka unoccupied factory and have a life supply of chocolate and candy. Charlie found the fifth and the last ticket and he goes to the factory the next morning. All the other children are very naught and all of them have troubles and have to been saved in the other chocolate rooms. Only Charlie is left , and Mr. Willy Wonka. tells him that he likes him best, so he'll give charlie the whole factory and they use Mr. GLASS elevator to pick up Charlie's family and they got in trouble because of a grandma and that is the next story. -Star rating: 5 Stars - What's your favorite part of the book? Why? it‘s the part that one of the bad gold ticket founder , VS fell in the the garbage shoot with her mum and dad . funny. - What character do you like most/least? Why? I like Charlie best, because he is not like the other children, and he is good and patient. - Does the book engage your emotions, making you laugh or cry or think about it for days? yes ,it dose . it makes me laugh and think about it for days. - What connections can you make? 请问有熟悉墨尔本Avalon College语言学校的吗？求建议最后跟贴：筒子们好，我们是新移民，儿子明年要上Y6了，我们4月份到墨尔本短登了一下，期间去yarra valley grammar报了名，经过副校长的面试（用英语问了我儿子一些问题，大概20分钟左右，我感觉回答得还不错，基本没有他听不懂或者回答不上来的地方，因为口语是他强项，如果要设涉及到词汇，语法以及写作的话就麻烦了），尽管我们没有考AEAS，但还是给了offer，我们也根据学校要求付了报名费，但是要求我们要在Term 3结束前提供一个AEAS的成绩，说是为了根据英语情况分班用，对此我有几个问题想请教一下： 1，我儿子从没有参加过AEAS的培训，也没有考过试，如果就这样去裸考的话，如果万一成绩不尽如人意，会否被取消offer？因为我在坛子里面看到过，说yarra valley为了提高学校的成绩，会驱逐一部分成绩不好的学生，有点担心； 2，因为学校提出要AEAS的成绩，那怎么着也要去考一个，考虑到上面这个问题，也为了入学后能尽快摆脱语言的问题融入学习中，准备让他参加一些培训后再去考AEAS，目前有两个选择，一是参加墨尔本的一些AEAS辅导课程，二是去朋友推荐的Avalon College学习后再去考； 3，经过AEAS的定向培训后，尽管很大可能考出一个好成绩，但总感觉是应试教育，对实际应用的作用相对没那么大，而Avalon是住宿制的英语学习，号称在Avalon 上一周的课，顶得上在普通语言学校上四周的效果；不知道大家对这个Avalon有没有比较熟悉的，能否给点意见和建议？感谢！最后发表：ericjii	ericjii 2018-6-11 13:21	03800	ericjii 2018-6-11 13:21

And another giant came, this one is even bigger than the BFG, but not friendly at all. He called the BFG runt. then when Sophie barely survive the unfriendly giant , the BFG told her there was other nine giants they were all the twice big as the BFG. and really want to eat humans. every night, they would gallop to the human world and eat humans as they slept. the BFG always gallopped to the humans and blew the dream he collected into the humans' windows. One afternoon, the other giant yelled to the BFG, they would all gallop to England and eat people . BFG didn't he can help , but when Sophie heard it, she had a plan. she said BFG had to help her. at last they buried the gaints and saved England. (a little girl Sophi couldn't sleep. she was an orphan in an ophanage. she looked out of the window and there is a giant. He Had a suitcase and long trumpet thing. but when he blew it , there was no sound came out. and when he saw Sophi, he opened the window and grabbed her. " what's a human bean. Sophie realized the other giant was coming. The BFG hid Sophie on a corner in a giant table. the other giant came inside. ) - What's your favorite part of the book? Why? my favorite part of the book is when the Queen of England led the BFG to the ballroom, and the Queen's butler lay up some piano chairs and tables to make BFG a giant chair and table . the butler had to climb the table with his feet and had to carry BFG''s breakfast at the same time. and another part is when BFG said helicopters as belly popper . this made the army generals and other Queen's helpers angry. and the one of them said , he wanted a boom boom blow the nine giants up. and then BFG's idea was dumb ,and said, "boom boom boom , blow blow blow." because they are very funny. - What character do you like most/least? By: my daughter (8 years old) Book Summary: Abby and her friends were at Penny's house. They went down a rabbit hole in a golf course. There can't be such a big hole. Frankie went in first, so that's how she got lost and separted from team. They all ended up in Wonderland. Abby, Robin and Penny were looking for Frankie and found her in the Mad Hatter's house. The friends got captured bacause they (excluding Frankie) ate the Queen's tarts. They went to court. With Abby's law skills, they got out and a swallow took them back to Penny's house. I rate this book five stars (***) because it makes me feel enjoyable and this is interesting book! When you read this book you will never put it down, I promise. You will be addicted to this book!
