I doubt SAP can do much help on your accounting career though.
1. Verbal English communication is more important than anything else in job search, at least for accounting. If you cant communicate fluently, all your exps, skills will be discounted...
2. Yup lots of job ads do ask for system experience, however, when it comes to candidate screening, the employer could be more interested in your actual experience (e.g. the industry you used to work for, actual job duties etc), unless the job says the particular system exposure is pre-requisite
3. If you look for a proper accounting job rather than the entry level transactional one such as AR , Payroll. It would be more beneficial to have an in-depth understanding of debit, credit, cost centre, month end procedure, tax, etc and how daily transactions affect the B/S and P/L. Then you may talk you way through, despite you have limited system exposure.
4. Master degree does not bring any advantage, instead some potential employers may view it as overqualified. So you need to get sufficient exp to back up your degree.
This is just my 2 cents, it may make you feel down, but I reckon you should know it sooner than later. |
