Just like German army in the battle, almost all general in the Russian encirclement ordered their troops to fight to the last and reserve one bullet for himself, and ‘Never surrender’.  At the end all generals surrendered.  After surrendered, generals stood a better chance to survive in the labour camp. The survival rate of ordinary German solider, army officer, and generals is 5%, 45% and 95%.







Can you rely on your colleague to give you a hand when you are in deep trouble? NO!! The better their futures in the company, the less likely they will help. Army Group South just watched Sixth Army walking to their doom. Field Marshal Erich Von Manstein was more willing to bend to Hilter than to recuse Sixth Army.
