You need to lodge a tax return for the 2012-13 income year because you did not claim your full private health insurance rebate as a premium reduction from your insurer or as a direct payment from Medicare.

If you had a spouse on 30 June and your spouse is lodging a tax return, you can choose to have your spouse claim your share of the rebate in their return. This means, if you have no other reason for lodging, you will not have to lodge a tax return just to claim the rebate.

红色的地方看不懂啊。我们有私人医疗保险，一整年都没claim过。
难道ATO这么变态，claim过私人保险就可以不报，不claim就必须报吗？

你買了私人醫療保險，但是沒有申請減免。

when you paid the insurance premiums, you paid the full amount. So you can get the refund from ATO for the rebate, if you lodge your tax return.....

ls 误导，LZ 说没有claim, 和rebate 是两回事。一般都已经rebate 过了，可以叫你的医疗保险寄一份annual statement 来就知道要不要claim了
