First of all, I'm NOT saying Vet is wrong or useless. Luffy got big gash in his mouth last week, thanks Vet to fix him by sawing stitches in his mouth.
But not all dogs fit Vet's solution.
When Luffy broke his toe in front leg, we sent him to pet emergency center at 1am, and follow up with next day Vet visit. Then, sent him to emergency again few days later due to he was unsettled and whining at middle of night.
At first, Vet suggested to use bandages.
Luffy had bandages for 4 weeks, We had to send him to Vet every 4 days to change bandage. after x-ray, no improving at all.
so we had splinter at Vet's suggestion, We sent Luffy to Vet place every 3 days to check and make sure his leg was okay. However, after 3 weeks, Vet said, we have to take it out otherwise, Luffy would loss his leg since he always get his leg wet somehow.
then, Vet suggested to have cage resting or locking him in bath room 24 x 7, which we can't agree. By locking him in the cage and force him to wee and pee in the same cage, we believe it will cause bad temperament and mental damage for Luffy. What's the point to have a perfect health dog but biting and barking at people all the time?
so we just leave him in the apartment and occasionally took him out for walk. We have decided to let nature takes it's course. If his leg is not meant to be fixed, so be it. We will still love him and make him happy.
Day after day, week after week, his leg was getting better for 1 week, and get worse for 3 days, and getting better for another week, getting worse again. Finally, after 3 or 4 months, his front leg finally healed.
Well, after that, his back leg was getting limping. But that's another story.
As Luffy now, he gets a beautiful girlfriend (Da Zhuang) and play with her at least once a week. plenty cuddles from grandma, daddy, mommy, also god mother, god father, what else could he wish for?
