关于tick & travelling ~~有分布图方便各位嘛嘛趴趴出游。

感谢花生同教主昨天对tick讲解。。本来只对flea大京小怪，现在发现tick可以致命啊。。。 soooo  噢昨天吃饭和晚上就小小研究咯下。。还摸咯摸混球上下。。结果。。。噢就悲剧咯。摸了不知道什么地方以为是tick，结果眼明手快一把把咯几把毛。。。不repeat 咯 。。太桑心咯。。某少郁闷坏咯。。。

话归正题。希望xmas holiday带宝贝出去外游的注意下~~~~~

Recommended products for tick prevention

Adult tick Ixodes holocyclus

travel advice:

看看我们的运气，啥都没查去了大洋路，bush，山，海，湖，河都去了。。

我们昨天才有一只tick dog死掉了住在悉尼山区，靠近bush

滴剂对于paralysis tick只有2周的有效期，这点大家要注意。

对于高危区or经常去高危区的狗狗，我个人建议用tick collar。我自己给丫比用scalibor tick collar。这是个比较新的产品，无味的（preventic的味道丫比不喜欢），可以顶3个月。需要2-3周达到最大药效，所以要提前用上。猫猫预防只有frontline spray，而且要整只猫猫喷湿，猫猫一般很讨厌那个，所以indoor最好。

不管用的什么方式，都不是100%的。super高危区的宠物，最好能天天做tick search，摸摸全身上下。长毛的考虑把毛剃短方便检查。一有中毒的症状立马送vet，最明显的比如四肢无力。

可以问问附近的vet，看看该区的paralysis tick的情况有多严重。

那个味道很像口香糖，样子也很像 出门前至少48小时前戴上，洗澡游泳要除掉，重新戴上要24小时才会恢复药效。一种size，多余的部分剪掉即可。

我怎么完全没印象春花发过这个帖
Y麻，是不是还要买个专门夹tick的钳子?我好像在哪看到说用一般的钳子夹可能会把tick的头部继续留在狗狗的皮肤上。
还有，你们诊所有没有用过shoo tag? 我对这个比较有兴趣，实在不想用那么多药或是tick collar

tick removal我有 我觉得用tweezer也是可以的，主要还是手法。不管用的哪种，都可以去youtube学习怎么拔除tick，免得真遇到的时候太慌张。当然tick removal操作会比较简单啦。

shoo tag我们没有卖过，也没有卖过类似的产品。我想主要的原因是没有可证实的数据来支持产品的有效率？

发现Tick快去vet阿！ ...

应该就是每天仔细检查全身，包括脸部，嘴唇和耳朵，并且小心观察有没有任何可疑症状，有症状要尽快带去就医。Paralysis ticks是会致命的，千万别拖。
Early signs:

    A change in voice; the meow or bark becomes softer and/or changes pitch.
    Weakness in the back legs; walking along then sitting down suddenly is a common early sign.
    Vomiting, especially if it happens several times in a day and you see froth.

Later signs:

    Wobbliness in the back legs.
    Excessive salivation and vomiting is not uncommon.
    Panting, progressing to loud breathing, even grunting noises.
    Many dogs will exhibit a moist cough and breathing problems before other signs. (Particularly common in King Charles spaniels, schnauzers and other short-nosed dogs, this is a dangerous sign because it may lead to pneumonia.)

Worsening signs:

    As signs of poisoning progress, the animals become unable to stand.
    Breathing becomes exaggerated and difficult.
    As breathing becomes more difficult, the gums become cold and blue-tinged. Death follows quite quickly.

你看我wechat咯乜。。。我有一日摸到个黑点点不肯定，，，拉这车夫一起研究。。。当时候大少正迷糊睡觉觉捏。。 。 结果经过我俩又揪又扯其他地方继续摸到一个类似的，很对称还。。。。。结论是 ：tits 。。。

tick collar也不是100%，高危区还是每天检查的好。是什么狗狗啊？长毛短毛？

bush tick不是致命的可是会散播传染病，而且一般你找到一只还会有更多只。最好发现之后，天天都给他检查一边直到真的找不到为止。要是一直有的话，可以考虑给他上药比如frontline和advantix。

心得
1. 帶狗狗去叢林要小心 不要以為做了準備就沒事
2. 狗狗在外面要每天檢查不能偷懶 尤其是帶著溯溪 臨近水邊
3. 不要以為讓狗狗玩的開心就是對牠好 有風險的地方還是少去
4. ticks 主要有三種 bush tick brown tick and paralysis tick
  female paralysis tick 成蟲最危險 咬到去看看醫生就沒錯了
  其他兩種就是會吸血的昆蟲 毒性不高但有傳染疾病的可能性
  所以要注意有沒有疾病的症狀
5. 有以下症狀立即就醫
If your dog lives in or visits a high risk area for paralysis ticks, it is important to look out for the symptoms of toxicity. The symptoms to watch for are:
Loss of coordination in the hindlegs (wobbly or not being able to get up).
Change in voice or bark.
Retching, coughing or vomiting.
Loss of appetite.
Progressive paralysis starting in the hindlegs and progressing to include the forelegs.
Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing.
但是有個西人論壇認為關鍵症狀是嘔吐

忘了報告去camping 的地方.............

在newcastle北邊50公里處
不錯的地方 ...........是專門給人帶狗去露營的
狗在那裡跟別的holiday park不一樣
除了極少數的地方像是吧台 餐廳內部(法律)不能去
其他地方狗都可以off leash 自由活動
