Rumors are currently swirling about Galaxy S4 release date, the successor to the Galaxy S3 and Samsung’s wildly popular iPhone killer. However, it doesn’t look like we will meet the Samsung Galaxy S4 for a while now. In a report on Tuesday, CNET has learned that the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date will NOT be aligned with CES. CES is scheduled for January 8th-10th and will take place in Las Vegas. We have previously reported that the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date could be as late as March of 2013 – which makes sense given the success of the GS3 and the desire to hold their own launch event. We’ve included more info on the GS 4, including the rumored specs and photos below.
According to CNET,” speculation about the Galaxy S4′s arrival surfaced yesterday after Samsung released a teaser video for CES. The video revealed little, but it was enough to kick off speculation and anticipation for a smartphone announcement. Samsung actually downplayed the rumor a while back, but that was largely ignored. It wouldn’t make sense for Samsung to unveil the new version so soon, given that the Galaxy S3 continues to sell well, and the company has put its resources behind promoting the newly released Galaxy Note 2.”

Samsung has yet to confirm any of the reports on GS 4 specs, but here is what we know. The Samsung Galaxy s4 release date is expected in March of 2013. As for a processor, the 4G LTE S4 will reportedly run the same Exynos 1.6 GHz quad-core unit that powers the Galaxy Note 2. The OLED screen will be larger than that of its predecessor, the S3 (4.8 inches), and the iPhone 5’s (4 inches) – most likely 5 inches. It will also sport 4G LTE connectivity and an Android OS. A 13MP camera is also rumored. Galaxy S4 will reportedly be shipped with he latest version of Android: Jelly Bean, or Android 4.1. Early reports hinted that the S4 could be shipped running Android 4.2, or Key Lime Pie. All of these rumored specs look to build upon the already impressive Galaxy S3 which boasts a 4.8 inch 720p HD display, 4G LTE connectivity, Android’s 4.0 OS, and a reasonable contracted price of $199.
As with any rumor piece please take the info listed with a grain of salt. |
