If you are importing goods from overseas for your business, you should read below ATO publication in relation to GST.

GST and Imported Goods.

The reason of this post is on this publicatoin ATO states This is a newly modified publication on 5 Oct 2012, i haven't got a chance to do an edit check. But i guess whatever has been changed should be minor.
